Tae Kwon Do
Taekwondo has evolved as a combination of different style of martial arts existing in Korea for over 2000 years. Some art forms are also taken from countries surrounding Korea. Taekwondo has a unique combination of abrupt linear movements of Karate and the flowing circular styles of Kung-fu along with it the native kicking techniques.
The Taekwondo is famous for the use of its various kicking techniques and incorporating the distinguished style of the southern style of kung fu. It works on the theory that a leg is the longest and strongest weapon of the martial artist. The kick has a great potential some powerful strike and retaliate to some powerful blows. The Back Kick is exclusive to Taekwondo.
Taekwondo is a sport that is prevalent in both males and females and of many ages. Taekwondo helps to develop strength speed, balance, flexibility, and stamina.
Sensei Jimmy Livengood is a 4th dan in TKD, he teaches our TKD curriculum. This class is only available to black belts in our kenpo system as continuing education, you will see many of our black belts with a different color stripe in the middle designating their rank in TKD.
